Academic Rules at The University
The academic deferral for undergraduate students at the University of Babylon. Students may defer their studies under the following conditions:
The student is entitled to defer his studies according to the exam instructions for one year for valid reasons convinced by the College Board/ Institute. However, the request for deferral must submit 30 days before the start of the final exam.
The student may defer his or her studies for another year, for valid reasons upon the chancellor's discretion.
A student's study may not be deferred in colleges that follow the quarterly system in the second semester unless for reasons beyond his or her control and should be successful in the first semester and be considered deferral for the entire school year.
Deferring a student's studies for a third year for valid reasons will be among the Minister's discretion or whoever authorises him with consideration of the student's curriculum vitae.
Presence And Absence
According to exam instructions, the student has a certain absenteeism rate: "The student shall be considered a failure if his absences exceed 10% of the hours allowed for that course without a valid reason or 15% of the hours prescribed by a valid excuse approved by the College Council.".
Warning and Dismissal from University
The student shall be punished by dismissal for 30 days if he commits one of the following offenses:
first :An act punishable by a warning and previously punishable by a warning penalty
secondly :Saying something offensive or excessive to a university member who is not faculty.
Third :If He defamed or abused a faculty member inside or outside of the college or institute.
Fourthly :Placing posters on campus that disturb public order and morals.
The student shall be punished by temporary dismissal from the university for a period not exceeding one-year academic if he commits one of the following offences:
first :Repeating one of the violations stipulated in Article (4) of these instructions.
secondly :Practice or incite sectarian or ethnic blocs, political or party groupings on campus.
Third :The attempt of an assaulting action by physical violence for a university member who is not faculty.
Fourthly :Using violence against fellow students.
V:Threatening to perform acts of violence.
Sixthly:If He was armed with or without a license on campus.
Seventh:Acts of gross negligence on the property of the university, body, college or institute.
eighth :If he defamed of national unity or religious beliefs.
ninth :Saying something offensive a faculty member inside or outside of the college or institute.
tenth :Tear off the reputation of the university or body by word or deed.
eleven:Deliberate impairment of the academic's proper functioning.
twelfth:Determining that he had perpetrated fraud against his fellow college or institute colleagues.
Secondly, The student shall be punished by the final dismissal from the college or the institute and by a decision of the university or the body and shall record his registration if he commits one of the following offenses:
first :Repeating one of the violations stipulated in Article (5) of these instructions.
secondly :The attempt of an assaulting action by physical violence for A member of the faculty or lecturer at the university, college or institute.
Third :disgraceful acting and contrary to morality and public morals.
Fourthly :Submitting any false certification , file, or certification with the knowledge that they are faulty or constitute incitements to forgery.
V :Disturbance acting of security and tranquility on campus or his participation in or assistance to disturbance the campus.
Sixthly :If he is convicted of a serious crime or a major offense against honor, integrity, or public morals, a sentence of more than one year.
A member of the faculty is nominated to head a student discipline committee by the dean of the college or institute. A committee member must be a current, member of the student union (elected). There will be a management officer assigned as the committee's rapporteur. The disciplinary sanctions provided for in these instructions shall be imposed by a decision of the College Council or the Institute; the Council may delegate its powers to the Dean of the College or Institute.
